A loan of $125 helped to access high quality inputs such as fertilizer and improved seed that will double his yield and income.

Aminu's story

Aminu is a 31 year old father, farmer and member of Babban Gona. He is excited about the agronomy training he receives as a Babban Gona member in addition to access to premium markets. Like other Babban Gona members, he has the opportunity to make up to $1,350/ha from his farm this season, double the average Nigerian farmer’s yearly income. With the increase in earnings he hopes to invest in his daughter's future and eventually send her to the best university. His most recent loan from Babban Gona provided him with enough fertilizer to optimize his yields and access a product that eliminates a food toxin in his maize, enabling his family to eat healthier maize and for him to get a premium price for the maize he sells.
