Mavis's story

Mavis is 23 years-old, married and a mother of 1 who lives in Hurungwe district. She also supports her three siblings. She operates a small grocery store in her village where she sells different products such as eggs, sugar, cooking oil, rice, flour, washing soap, soft drinks, bread, shoe polish, snacks and cotton wool.

With a loan of $500, Mavis intends to purchase sugar, cooking oil, rice, flour, washing soap, soft drinks, bread, shoe polish, snacks and cotton wool in bulk to reduce costs and increase her sales volumes. She hopes to expand into a large retail business so as to cater for her family, send her child to school and create employment in her community.
