A loan of $1,025 helped to pay for his son’s university tuition.

Hour's story

Hour, 33, is married and lives with his family in a village of the Ponhea Luer district. He has four children to take care of and they are still in school.

To make a living, Hour has been working as a teacher and also farming rice. Engaging in this business for 26 years, he is able to earn about KHR 40,000 per day to meet the family’s need.

Hour has joined VisionFund Cambodia, Kiva’s partner, for this cycle as a second-time borrower. He is now applying for a loan to pay for his son’s university tuition. He hopes this loan will enable him to continue his son’s education until graduation and also that it will help to relieve his family's financial burden, so he can sustain and grow his business.
