A loan of $600 helped to buy agricultural supplies needed for her coffee farm.

Yolanda's story

Yolanda is 52 years old and has a large family, which is comprised of four children. Two of her children work in the field and the other two of them are in different grades in a primary school in the area. She and her husband farm together. Besides her farm work she makes tamales and bread to sell as her customers are her neighbors in her community. It is through this business activity that she contributes, with the profits, even more to the household.

She attended school up to the fourth grade. Thanks to her parents, the land that they work as a family is her own. She inherited it from them, and the land is three kilometers from her house. They walk there, or sometimes they go by animal.

She is requesting a loan to buy agricultural supplies needed for her coffee farm. With these supplies they hope to improve and to get an excellent harvest at the end. They hope to get the hoped for positive results.

She plans to expand her coffee crops and to plant more and a greater variety. This way she will be able to strengthen her children’s inheritance and leave her land fertile. She will do this so that they are able to work and generate income for their families.
