A loan of $275 helped to buy merchandise such as face creams, cosmetics, lotions, and body creams.

Miriam De Jesús's story

Miriam is 64 years old. She is married and the mother of 3 children. Since she married she has taken care of her family as a housewife. She was always looking after the education and well being of her children. Seven years ago, she decided to seek advice on how to generate income on her own, and that is how she started to sell catalog products to her relatives, friends and neighbors in the area where she lives. “I started to sell products by catalog for a change of pace and now I feel useful, since my children are adults. I also like it because the brand of products that I sell is very well known and had a market share and people like it." That is how Miriam expresses her satisfaction while doing this activity.

Right now, she is asking for the loan to invest in buying merchandise (body creams, cosmetics, lotions, facial creams) in order to take advantage of the discounts she gets from buying wholesale and to have a variety of products available to offer her customers. This will allow her to increase her sales profit margin and continue her business. This way, she won't be limited financially and she can help her husband with the household expenses.
