A loan of $500 helped to purchase sugar, rice, beans, coffee, milk, bread, lard, etc.

Emelda's story

Emelda is 33 years old and lives with her husband and her son in their home located in the town of Nacaome in southern Honduras. Emelda has made a living selling basic groceries like rice, beans, lard, eggs, drinks and other items for a number of years. Emelda's business is located in her home, and her customers are neighbors and all the people who come to her community. She is requesting the loan to purchase more grocery products like sugar, rice, beans, coffee, milk, bread, lard and other items. She wants to stock her business a little more and have the products her customers seek. She wants to keep making headway, and with the support of the loan will be able to keep growing her inventory. Emelda's dream is to expand her store and set up a drink stand.
