Besides these children, the couple has two other children in their care. Conforte lives together with her husband and these children. The household expenses are taken care of by the couple. To respond to the family's needs, Conforte has been selling bread and sardines, avocados, butter, milk, etc. for around twenty years. Conforte stocks up in a market in Benin. With the goal of strengthening her business, Conforte joined together with the other members of the group to ask for a loan from Alidé.

Le groupe EDJROMAHU est composé de trois personnes, qui résident dans le même quartier. Conforte (celle qui a la main levée sur la photo), est la représente de ce groupe. Conforte est âgée de 36 ans. Conforte n'a pas fréquenté l’école. Conforte est mariée à un certain Germain. Le couple a quatre enfants, tous scolarisés et à leur charge. En dehors de ces enfants le couple a deux autres enfants à sa charge. Conforte vit ensemble avec son mari et ces enfants. Les charges du ménage sont assurées par le couple. Pour répondre aux besoins de sa famille Conforte vend depuis vingt ans environ du pain accompagné de sardines, avocats,beurre, lait etc. Conforte s'approvisionne dans un marché du Bénin. Dans le but de renforcer son activité, Conforte s’associe avec les autres membres de son groupe pour solliciter un premier crédit auprès de ALIDé.

Alidé is a Beninese NGO that works to reduce poverty by offering sustainable access to productive loans like this one in addition to savings, training sessions, and social work to low-income families.

Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000. This means that some Kiva lenders may receive their repayments late. However, Alidé remains a healthy institution in good standing with its creditors, and Kiva would like to continue working to support its clients.
