Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $600 helped to purchase fertilizers, supplies and compost.

Sandro Henrry's story

Sandro is 29 years old, single and he lives alone in the subdivision of Ventanas in the Los Rios province. The communal bank he belongs to is San Antonio and its members all work in agriculture. They all live in an area of the Aguas Frias sector and practically grew up in that area. Most of the members work in agriculture or with livestock.

Sandro works in his grocery store, he grows corn and raises chickens. He requests the loan in order to buy fertilizers, supplies and compost. With the support of the loan he'll be able to buy the fertilizers. He makes his purchases in Ventanas every week. His dream is to expand his business and his challenge is pests. During his free time he likes to take care of his crops.
