Faustina's story

Faustina is 38 years old. She is a single mother of four children, with whom she lives in her house, which is constructed from wood. On being left single and with the great responsibility of supporting her children, she continued with the work that she was doing in the countryside, growing organic cacao and other profitable products of her region. She also weaves blankets. It is work that she considers very enjoyable and at the same time profitable. She learned this work from her mother, who also did the weaving of these fabrics, which eventually have a number of customary uses, such as carrying babies on backs and protection from cold. Among her principal customers are her neighbors and residents of her area, who loyally follow the age-old customs. She also wants to improve her house and build it from high-quality materials. This is her first loan with Kiva, and she feels grateful for the financial support that she will receive to continue forward. In addition, she promises to make her payments in a punctual manner. At this time, she wants to have 1500 PEN for the wholesale purchase of wool, thread, and needles to make more blankets.
