Christine is a married mother of five children, with four in school and one finished. She lives at her own house that has neither electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expense is food.
For the past years, she has operated a clothes selling business, selling at the market to her neighbours and passersby. She faces a major challenge of stiff competition in her business. She dreams of expanding and establishing a boutique business in the future.
With the loan that she is requesting of Kes 25,000 she wants to purchase bales of clothes to resell. She decided to join Kiva partner Yehu in order to access loans to boost her business.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
