Kalerwe Tulla- Habib Group
Habib drives a taxi to earn a living. He started this job in 2003 after failing to find formal employment, yet still needing to meet the growing needs of his family. Habib mostly deals in town transportation service.
His dream is to have another taxi so that he can earn higher wages. This would help him provide the best for his family and many dependents.
His major challenge is lack of enough money to purchase a taxi, therefore he needs a loan to help him purchase a taxi. Habib is very hardworking and honest according to his colleagues. He will use the loan to purchase a taxi for himself.
Habib confided that if he had enough funds, he would quit being a taxi driver and settle down as a businessman. However, he thanks UGAFODE for giving them loans at reduced rates.
This is a Group Loan
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.
Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
