Sevindik's story

Sevindik is 46-year-old married man with three children. He lives with his family in an internally displaced persons (IDP) settlement, as he is an IDP.

Sevindik raises seasonal fruits and vegetables such as corn, cucumbers, tomatoes, apples, pears, peaches, plums, and cherries. He has 15 years of experience, and he has gained respect from local vendors because he produces a good organic crop without chemical fertilizers.

People use fresh vegetables every day and consider them healthful. Many national dishes like pilau and dolma are made of vegetables. Fresh fruits are served on every Azerbaijani family's table and also are used to make fresh punch.

Sevindik sells his crop from his yard and sometimes takes it to the local bazaar. His monthly income is 100 AZN and he would like to expand his business and purchase more seeds and fertilizers to improve the quality of his crops to increase his sales. For this purpose, he applied for a loan of 1,800 AZN. This will be his fifth loan, and he has a positive client history
