Ágela Rosa's story

In the City of Portoviejo, known as the City of the Royal Tamarinds since colonial times, the “17 de Julio” communal bank meets every two weeks. Angela lives here. She is 52 years old, married, and has three adult children, one of whom still lives at home. Her husband it a teacher. Angela is a very good and hardworking person who sells clothing of all types, Yabnal brand products (beauty products and cosmetics, perfumes, and ladies’ accessories) and Romanel jewelry in order to help with the household expenses. She sells door to door and from her home, and works for about three hours a day. She sells on credit, collects weekly, has been doing this for more than 10 years, and has benefited well. She will use this loan to buy clothing, jewelry, and cosmetics to be able to meet her customer requests. She has been in the communal bank since its second cycle and she enjoys it because of the help that the loans have provided. Her dream is to move ahead with her business and family life.
