A loan of $700 helped to buy a cow.

Nery's story

Nery, 48, is married and has three children. The only one living with her, though, is her 20-year-old son, his wife and their one-year-old son. Nery has a ninth grade education and her husband is a farmer. She gets up at 5:00 a.m. and helps her husband on the farm.

Nery learned farming from her parents, and she walks a kilometer to the land where she, her husband and her son work in the morning.

The loan she is requesting through the Campo Foundation is to buy a cow to produce milk which she will sell to earn more income for the household. She plans to buy more dairy cows to make dairy products such as cheese, cream and curd. Her goal is to build a brick house for her family since the one they live in is made of adobe.
