The group N’TEKOKOUMAMEN is composed of five women, who average 35 years of age and four children each. They live in traditional extended families with their husbands, co-wives, brothers, and sons in the HEREMAKONO NORD district of Bougouni City. They know one another through ties of community, friendship, and commerce. To bolster their financial capacity for operating their businesses better, they joined the microfinance institution Soro Yiriwaso and are now on their first loan.

This group of women does commerce in cosmetics through FLASSOUN, who is standing in the middle in the photo. She buys and sells cosmetic products and intends to use her loan to purchase 5 boxes of creams and 4 boxes of perfumes in Bamako. Accepting cash or credit at the market and at home, she makes her sales to a customer base composed essentially of women. She envisions making an average monthly profit of 22,000 francs CFA that will be invested in her business and used to pay back the loan.

Le groupe N’TEKOKOUMAMEN est constitué de 5 femmes toutes mariées ayant une moyenne d’âge de 35 ans et 4 enfants. Elles vivent dans des familles traditionnelles élargies avec leurs maris, coépouses, frères et fils dans le quartier HEREMAKONO NORD de la ville de Bougouni.
Elles se sont connues à travers des liens de voisinage, d’amitié et de commerce. Pour renforcer leur capacité financière afin de mieux faire leur commerce, elles ont adhéré à l’institution de microfinance Soro Yiriwaso avec laquelle elles sont à leur 1er prêt. Ce groupe de femmes fait le commerce de produits cosmétiques à travers de FLASSOUN debout au milieu. Elle fait l’achat vente de produits cosmétiques et compte acheter avec son prêt, 5 cartons de crèmes et 4 cartons de parfums à Bamako. Elle effectue ses ventes au marché et à domicile, en détail au comptant et à crédit à une clientèle composée essentiellement de femmes.
Elle envisage réaliser un bénéfice mensuel moyen de 22.000FCFA qui sera investi dans les activités et rembourser le prêt.

Soro Yiriwaso is a microfinance institution that works primarily in rural and semi-urban areas of Mali to provide underprivileged communities with access to financial services.The organization facilitates access for disadvantaged clients, particularly women, to new resources and services, fostering solidarity and cooperation among its clients. Kiva lenders’ funds will enable Soro Yiriwaso to expand its outreach and target even more underserved Malians involved in business and agriculture.
