A loan of $400 helped to buy raw material for molding work.

Bushra's story

Bushra is a 35-year-old married woman living in the area of Lahore, Pakistan. Her husband has been manufacturing plastic side mirror frames of vehicles through an injection molding machine for many years. He buys plastic raw material from the market and puts it into the injection molding machine. The raw material becomes melted under high temperature and then is injected into the dies through compression to give it a specific shape. In this way he manufactures the mirror frames, sells them into the market and makes enough income to contribute to the family's livelihood.

Bushra has three children and she barely manages to satisfy their needs. She is required to provide them with good food, health, and education. She needs to earn additional income to support her family well. She is in her third loan cycle with BRAC Pakistan. Currently she has requested a loan of PKR 40,000 to buy more raw materials for manufacturing so that her husband could increase his sales. She expects a boost in earnings and wishes to spend part of the profits on the expansion of the business.

Bushra is very thankful to the Kiva and its field partner BRAC Pakistan.
