A loan of $500 helped to buy agricultural supplies to protect her coffee crop.

Lidia's story

Lidia is a 32-year-old farmer and mother of 2 minor children. She did not complete primary school beyond the fourth grade. Together with her husband she works at farming and growing coffee. She learned to farm from her parents, as it is a tradition in her family. Her family owns the land that they farm, thanks to an inheritance from her parents. It is located 20 minutes from their house on foot, although they sometimes go there by car. Her customers are different buyers who come from the area, neighbors and stores. She has requested a loan from COMIXMUL to buy manure, foliar fertilizer and coffee fertilizer, etc., with which she will be able to protect and create better foliage in her coffee crop. Her goal is to improve the quality of the coffee that she is growing. In this way she can can attract more customers, and with the income will be able to reinvest in buying more coffee seedlings and a greater variety of coffee so as to be more competitive in the market.
