A loan of $375 helped to buy thread, fabric and other accessories.

Rocio's story

Rocio, 22, lives with her husband Ángel with whom she has two children. They have lived together in a rented house for three years. Rocio makes a living embroidering the skirts that are common to this region. With this income, she is able to support her family. "I already have some orders, only a few but I'm only just starting. Now I have to take advantage of the city's festive season, when everyone dances in skirts", she states.

This is her first loan with Kiva, and she feels developed because she is getting financial help in order for her business to progress. This is why she promises to be punctual in making her payments. Rocio will invest the 1000 Peruvian soles in the purchase of thread, fabric and other accessories for the embroidery she does.
