Huancavelica, Peru / Construction

A loan of $550 helped to buy construction tools.

Alejandro's story

Alejandro, 43, is a responsible man. He lives with his wife Isabel and his children in the house he bought a few years ago.

Alejandro earns a living in construction. He's working on asphalting the highway to his town. He's very happy about this job because the residents will have a better quality of life and, especially, greater access to take their harvests to the city to sell.

He has worked in this field for some years, and currently he's working on this public project with some of his coworkers. He hopes to be able to earn a good profit. "I have to make this most of this opportunity. It's certain money and it pays well," he says.

As a son of the fields he also works in farming and ranching, growing agricultural products and raising sheep and dairy cows.

This is his second Kiva loan. He's grateful for the financial support received because it will allow him to improve his income. He promises to make his payments punctually.

Alejandro will invest the 1500 soles in tools for his construction jobs.
