A loan of $750 helped a member to buy fertilizers for her farmland.

Chanthou's Group's story

Originally from a village of the Dambae district where crop farming is a common way to make a living, Chanthou is a 24-year-old and she is married. Rice farming and cassava planting are the main sources of the family’s income. The current business earns her about 30,000 KHR per day to meet the family’s need.
This is the second microloan for Chanthou with Kiva’s partner, and she has completely paid back the first loan. Now leading her group of three to apply for a loan, Chanthou will use her portion to buy fertilizers for her farmland and also use a portion of it to plough the field. She hopes this loan will enable her to have another source of family’s income so as to increase her income and make for a better living.
