A loan of $400 helped to buy bananas, firewood, oil and corn for her business.

Maria's story

María Teodora, 50, is single and has two dependent children. She lives in the community of San Lorenzo in the south of Honduras, in her own home. For 13 years she has been in the business of selling green banana chips for grocery stores and the market.

María Teodora also sells tortillas, and her customers prefer her because she delivers orders on time. As a single woman she has had to work hard together with her children to provide for the family. She is requesting a loan to buy bananas as raw material, firewood, oil and corn. This is so she can continue with her banana chip and tortillas business.

With the support of the loan she hopes to improve her work conditions and improve her profits so her family can have a better quality of life. María Teodora's goal is to have a successful business and renovate her home.
