Adela is an enthusiastic 28-year-old young woman. She has completed a technical degree in Computer Technology. She lives with her mother, Sofia, and her brother, Olman. They recently suffered the loss of her father leaving them to get ahead in order to secure a better future.
Currently, Adela is pushing forward in completing her last three classes for a degree in Systems Engineering at the Universidad Técnica de Honduras [Technical University of Honduras]. She has very clear goals of getting professional experience as soon as possible so that she can contribute to improving her family's quality of life. This is why she has an internship at a Honduran company which is opening doors for her.
Adela hopes to graduate in March of 2014. She also hopes to be able to contribute to the development of major communications projects and to be an agent for change in Honduras.
Adela es una joven entusiasta de 28 años de edad, es graduada de bachiller Técnico en Computación. Vive con madre la Sra. Sofia y su hermano Olman. Recientemente han sufrido la perdida de su padre siendo ellos mismos los llamados a salir adelante para poder obtener un mejor futuro. Adela actualmente esta esforzándose por cursar sus últimas 3 clases de la carrera de Ingeniería en Sistemas en la Universidad Técnica de Honduras. Tiene claro sus objetivos de profesionalizarse lo antes posible para contribuir a mejorar el nivel de vida de su familia, por lo que paralelamente esta realizando su práctica profesional en un empresa hondureña que le ha abierto las puertas, Adela espera graduarse en el mes marzo del 2014 y espera poder contribuir al desarrollo de grandes proyectos en el área de comunicaciones y ser un agente de cambio en Honduras.

Fundación CREHO (Honduran Foundation for Educational Loans) is a lending institution founded in 2002 in Tegucigalpa that focuses exclusively on student loans. It aims to be the leading private lending organization offering education loans in the country, contributing to the transformation of Honduras by supporting the training of qualified people.
Kiva funding will be used to support three different types of loans: university degrees, technical and vocational degree programs, and school supplies such as laptops and textbooks. Partnering with Kiva will allow Fundación CREHO to offer long-term, low interest loans with less stringent guarantee requirements to students who otherwise have almost no options to finance their education. Furthermore, at least one-third of Kiva funding will help the organization target students from low-income households and who lack the collateral generally required for these loans.
Please note that Fundación CREHO is a non-traditional Field Partner, in that they are a student lender, not a microfinance institution. Loans to students attending a university degree program may have terms up to 10 years and lenders should not expect to receive payments while the student is still attending the university (4-5 years). In addition, payment plans are uploaded to Kiva for the full tuition cost, however if for any reason the full amount is not needed to complete the degree program, the unused balance will be repaid to lenders as a pre-payment as early as possible.
