A loan of $1,600 helped to buy dyes, permanents and tools for the beauty salon.

Tatiana Maribel's story

In the community of La Mocora of the Colon parish in the city of Portoviejo, a place known for its hardworking people who work in farming and cattle ranching, the members of the La Mocora communal bank meet every two weeks.

There lives Tatiana. She is 31 years old. She is single and lives in her parents' house. Several years ago, she learned about beauty and personal grooming in an academy in the city of Portoviejo.

With what little resources she had and taking advantage of her knowledge of beauty and grooming, several years ago Tatiana set up a beauty salon in her house. She does different services there, such as dyeing, haircuts, manicures, and more. She works Monday through Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and sometimes later if her customers need her services, In addition, her locale sells beauty products and treatments and cosmetics. She has been doing this for more than 10 years in her salon and it is going well for her, since she has a lot of customers.

She is going to use this loan to buys, permanents, and tools that she still needs for the beauty salon. She has been with the communal bank since the beginning and she likes it because of the help and benefits that she gets from the bank.

Her dream is to have a Spa.
