Marina was born in the city of Luga which is in the Russian Federation. She received her higher education in pedagogy again in Russia in the small city of Pskov. After several years she finally came back to her native city, Kapan, and became a teacher of Armenian history. Marina is a widow and she lives alone. Her daughter is married and she lives separately and her son lives in Yerevan where he simultaneously works and studies. Marina works at the local school and at the same time at her home she gives paid courses in Armenian history.
