This is 32-year-old Annie from Liberia. She lives in St. Paul, a suburb located outside Monrovia, past the free-port. It has one of the oldest markets in the country, and is known for their fresh fish as it is located by the ocean. However, it is also one of the poorer areas and housing quality is often very low.
She is living with her fiance and two children. Her oldest child is 10 and her younger child is 2. They live at home, and the older child goes to school.
Annie has a table from which she sells soft drinks. She has been in business for nine years and works eight hours; she transports her goods by taxi, and started her business with money from her fiancé.
With this loan, she will buy soft drinks. One of the greatest challenges that she faces is insufficient income.
She is proud of her business because she makes a profit. Her plan is to build a house.
She would like to thank the lenders who support BRAC Liberia.
