Salamatu's story

Meet 40-year-old Salamatu from Tombo western rural area in Sierra Leone. She is married with two children, 15 years and 20 years old. Her children are currently attending school. After the war, Salamatu established her home product business. She began her business because she wanted to get a source of income to support her household. She works at the business 10 hours per day, 7 days per week. She says that the main challenge to her business is transportation problems.

Salamatu requires a loan in order to buy cups, food containers, and plates for resale. She hopes that the extra income from this loan will allow her to educate her children and improve her standard of living. In the future, Salamatu plans to open a big shop. She thanks you for your support.
