A loan of $425 helped to buy shoes, dresses and cosmetics to sell.

Cordelia Bih's story

Cordelia Bih is married with five children. They live in a four-bedroom apartment in the Bamenda Mezam Division of the northwest region of Cameroon. Cordelia Bih has faced so many challenges in life. Among them are inadequate finances to manage her business, the death of her father, which led to her dropping out of school, and the death of her junior brother, who had been a shoulder to cry on whenever she had marital problems or her children were sick.

Cordelia Bih has taken loans and repaid them successfully four times. She says, with this new loan, she will expand her business by buying more second-hand dresses and shoes for her shop and cosmetics like body oil, body lotion, body spray and bathing soap and hair products like mesh, hair oil and hair treatments.

She holds a positive view that her business will succeed because she has been in it for a long period of time and has regular customers who buy from her shop. She also has a good business site, which attracts more customers, and she offers sales at discount prices, which makes many people prefer to buy from her.

With this business activity, the community will buy at reduced prices, and her hair and body treatments will make these community members look fresh and young.

With the profits from her business, Cordelia Bih will support her husband in catering to their children’s basic needs, provide her family with three square meals and make provisions for the unknown.

She prefers loans from Grounded and Holistic Approach for People's Empowerment because of its low interest rates and convenience.
