A loan of $875 helped to buy Tupperware products and cosmetics.

Yane De Jesús's story

Yane has been a member of the communal bank "Damas del Futuro" for three years. In this time she has established a very good friendship with her friends and colleagues in the group. They live on the outskirts of the city of Cuenca, which is known for its architectual beauty. Since 1999 it has been a World Heritage site and offers several places to enjoy nature and the kind, gentle people who maintain the culture and traditions of their villages. Yane, 45, is married and has two children, ages 22 and 15. Her eldest son studies at the university and her second is in junior high. Her husband works as a taxi driver and has his own business. They own the house they live in. For seven years Yane has been selling Tupperware products, and for four years she has been selling cosmetics. She works every day, Sunday to Sunday. She will use the loan to buy Tupperware products and cosmetics to continue growing her business. Her goal is to travel to the Galápagos Islands.
