A loan of $4,750 helped to pay for textbooks, transportation and sustenance while studying Education.

Vanesa's story

Vanesa, 17, is a young woman who will be getting a Bachelor’s in Education. She’s requesting a loan to be able to pay for sustenance, transportation and textbooks. This is her story:

My name is Vanesa. I was born in the city of Santo Domingo. I’m 17-years-old. My father died when I was 13 and my mother was left alone; she has sacrificed to support me. My mother works as a secretary and her salary is barely enough to pay for fixed costs and food. I want to reach my dream of becoming a professional educator but she’s unable to pay for my schooling because her salary is insufficient.

With the benefit of this loan, I’ll be able to pay for texts, supplies and transportation because my mother’s unable to pay for them and to reach my dream of working teaching and helping children with learning problems and also to contribute to my country by helping people who never went to school to learn to read and write.

This loan represents my hope of being able to reach my dream of becoming a professional to help my mother this way somehow repaying her for all the effort she’s made to move me ahead after my father’s death.

I hope to find a friendly hand to help me attain this dream.

Farewell, Vanesa
