Tamara's story

Tamara is 45 years old, married, and the mother of four children. She has a specialized secondary education. She gets very good reviews from her neighbors who describe her as a kind and hardworking woman. Tamara has been involved in animal husbandry since 1990, thus providing her family with its main source of income. She started in this business with 10,000 som (KGS). Thanks to her hard work, she has managed to develop her activity and increase her livestock headcount. She now owns 20 sheep and makes close to 15,000 som (KGS) per month, which are essentially used to cover her family's food expenses as well as their daily needs. With the income from her business, Tamara has opened a retail outlet. In order to further develop this activity, she has turned to the microfinance bank "Bai Tushum & Partners" for a loan in the amount of 130,000 som (KGS) which will be used to buy school uniforms for resale. Tamara plans to invest her earnings from this loan into further increasing her business. She also plans to provide a good education to her children.
