A loan of $5,025 helped a member to increase his capital and buy a large quantity of products for his shop (rice, salt, soap), which he will resell to earn more money.

Grace Group's story

Salum belongs to the Grâce group and lives in Bujumbura. He is 56 years old and married to Françoise, who is a trader. They have five children together, whose ages range from 18 to 31 years old; four of the children are studying. He takes care of his grandchild.

He has been selling products in a shop (rice, salt, soap) for the past four years, and is on his third loan from Turame. With the KIVA loan that he is granted, he will increase his capital and buy a large quantity of products for his shop (rice, salt, soap) that he will resell in order to make more money.

In the coming years he would like to get his vehicle going again and see his children graduate from school.
