White Group's story

Salama, a member of WHITE group, has been running a retail shop selling dry foods, soft drinks and cosmetics. She is doing all of these activities in the same business place. Salama is in her early 30s and married with two boys who are in school. She has been in her business since 2009. She works from 6:00am to 9:30pm daily and is able to make a fair return per month. This will be Salama's third loan request from Tujijenge Tanzania which she will use to buy more food items like soft drinks, flour etc. With the previous loans, all of which she paid back successfully, she bought more shop items. Salama's profit is used to pay for school fees and household expenses. She dreams that one day will able to own a big business. This loan will be shared by Salama and her loan group "WHITE" which totals 7 members. The members of the group will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.
