Edda is 48 years old, married and the mother of nine children, five of whom are in school. She works hard to provide for her family by running a general store in the Philippines, and is requesting a loan for PHP 29,500 from NWTF to buy additional items to sell, such as sugar, soap, snack foods, soft drinks and other groceries. Edda has taken out and repaid 22 previous loans from NWTF, and has been running her general store for 11 years. She earns additional income by buying and selling charcoal, vegetables and nipa, a type of construction material. Her goal is to save enough money to send her children to school.
