A loan of $2,550 helped to buy 12 sheep to sell more meat in the summer.

Safura's story

Safura is 58 years old and married with four children. She is an internally displaced person (IDP) and lives with her family in the Bilasuvar IDP Settlement. Safura is a Fuzulu refugee. For the past 10 years, she has been raising sheep because mutton is in high demand in this region. People use mutton for traditional dishes like kababs, dolmas, pilovs, and other dishes. Safura earns 140 AZN each month which is very profitable. She works with her husband and they keep a flock of sheep in their yard to fatten. Safura takes the meat to the central bazaar, where butchers and customers purchase from her.

Safura is requesting a 2,000 AZN loan to buy 12 sheep in order to sell more meat in the summer. She is optimistic about her loan, because in the summer more people consume meat due to the holidays and increased customers in restaurants.
