A loan of $1,450 helped to improve her home.

Danika Marina's story

Danika is 21 years old and lives with her husband and little son, who she loves and are the centre of her life, in the city of Cañete in the district of Imperial. She is a very likeable, hard-working and enthusiastic person who works very hard with her husband to move her family forward. Unfortunately due to lack of finances and needing to work, Danika has not been able to study a technical course in confectionery but has learnt from her mother how to make delicious desserts and pastries. In her spare time she enjoys making a special meal to share with her family.

Acting on her own initiative and with great dedication, Danika works in her small business selling pastries and cakes. She works every day from early in the morning for around 8 hours. She sells her products from home and also goes around the streets selling her cakes.

Danika is very grateful to the Kiva lenders, since she will be able to make improvements to her home with the support she is getting. She needs to cover the costs of building a room with suitable durable materials so that she can improve her family's security and wellbeing. After this she will carry on working hard to achieve her biggest dream of seeing her son become a professional.
