A loan of $1,500 helped to buy 3 calves and to take advantage of the hay from the corn crop that she has already harvested.

Norma Evelin's story

Norma is a 43 year old woman. She strives day to day for a better future. She is married and has four children. She grew up with her grandparents and from them she learned to work the land, but she says that she likes working with cattle more.

When she married she decided to work raising cattle. She also raises chickens that she sells at Christmastime at a better price. She buys her materials in town and has to transport them in a truck two kilometers to her house, paying her neighbors for the service because they have the truck.

The loan will be used to buy 3 calves to take advantage of the corn hay that she has already harvested. She needs the money to take advantage of the abundance of feed to graze the cattle and not have to incur high expenses in production cost and to obtain income from selling her animals which will allow her to pay for her household expenses.

She wants to have several heads of cattle and a milking machine so she can make cheese and sell in the canton.
