Bandu is 33 years old and lives in the town of West Point. Her parent was not able to send her to school, but she believes that she is good at taking care of her business and her home affairs. She is not yet married but she and her fiance are living together. They have three children aged between 18 and 7. All three of them are attending school.
For five years now Bandu has been selling pepper, oil, bitter ball, okra, vita, etc. Some days the business is good; other days it's not. She learned how to do this business from her mother, and the best part of her work is that it keeps her busy. She sells six days in a week for 10 hours each day. Most often she uses a taxi to take her goods to her table business.
She established this business by selling cold water around from a wheelbarrow for two years, and she learned many ways of selling from her friends. She is glad today that she is independent. Bandu has requested a loan to purchase pepper, oil, bitter ball, okra, vita, etc. to increase her sales. In the future, she would like to have her own house and educate her children. She thanks BRAC and its supporters.
