A loan of $300 helped to buy groceries like rice, milk and flour, among others.

Luz's story

Luz is 28 years old. She is single and lives in her parent's home with her two children who are 11 and 9 years old, respectively. Luz works selling groceries. To do this she has a store that she installed in her parents house where she attends to her customers, the majority of whom are her neighbors, in a very friendly manner. She began this project more than three years ago with her savings and until now she did it all alone. Before she began her business she didn't have problems, but she had the desire to earn her own income and to support her parents with the expenses of their home. Having witnessed the great results that she is achieving, she therefore desires to continue this business and to explore another business selling clothes because she has seen that it is very profitable. This is her first loan with Kiva and she is grateful to receive economic support that will permit her to get ahead with her business. With the amount she is seeking of 800 nuevos soles ($300) she will buy groceries like rice, milk and flour, among others.
