A loan of $300 helped to buy products to sell such as flour, rice, milk, beans, etc.

Asteria's story

Asteria, age 41, is divorced from the father of her five children, who are 25, 20, 16, 12 and 8. She lives with her children in her own house. Asteria works selling food products. She displays all of these products in a neighborhood store she operates in her house, where she serves her clients, most of whom are her neighbors, in a very friendly manner. She started more than five years ago thanks to her savings, buying in small quantities. Upon seeing the response to her business, she decided to buy more products. She likes her business because it allows her to be in contact with her customers and with her children. This is her first loan with Kiva, and she feels grateful for the financial support she receives in order to keep going. She is also committed to making her payments in a punctual manner. With the amount requested, 800 Peruvian new soles, she will buy basic products such as flour, rice, milk, beans, etc.
