A loan of $4,400 helped a member to buy 30 baskets of mangoes for resale to wholesalers.

Aminta's Group's story

This group comprises 24 women who live in the same small town and who get along well with one another. Aminta, the group's representative, is a 45-year-old married woman and the mother of two children. She fattens sheep and also sells fruits and vegetables. She buys produce such as mangoes, bananas, carrots, apples and turnips from surrounding villages. In the photo, she is the woman wearing a green outfit and raising her hand. She will use her loan to buy 30 baskets of mangoes, each basket costing between 2,000 and 3,000 francs. She will then resell her goods to wholesalers. With her profits, she was able to build four rooms. In her family, she is the one managing the expenses, since her husband is retired.
