A loan of $250 helped to buy cabbages, onions and tomatoes.

Josephine's story

Josephine lives in Mombasa, Kenya, where she sells vegetables and fruits. Her business has been in operation for more than two years now and it has been productive enough that she was able to employ someone to help her run it. She has some formal employment which earns her extra income so that she does not entirely depend on the business. She is 26 years old, married and blessed with three children. The challenge she faces in the business is high transportation costs and weather uncertainties.

She heard of Milango through friends and now she seeks a loan to buy cabbages, onions and tomatoes to sell. The extra income that she raises from the business will pay her children's school fees and also help her open more branches of her business. Her living standards will also improve as a result of the income.
