Naseem's Group's story

Naseem baji is the wife of G. M. and has lived in the city of Borewala, Pakistan for the last 25 years. She is the mother of four children: three sons and one daughter. Her elder son is a daily wage laborer, and the other three children are enrolled in a local school in her neighborhood. Her husband is a vegetable seller and has been in this profession for the last 10 years. She successfully completed her two loans from Asasah (a microfinance institute of Pakistan). Now she is applying for a loan to buy more vegetables for her husband’s business.

She is joined in her loan group by a few more members. Shamim baji wants a loan to buy cosmetics to resell. Sakina baji wants a loan to buy thread for her carpet weaving business. Salma baji wants a loan to buy more milk for her milk business.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.
