A loan of $275 helped to purchase parts such as tires and seats, and also to pay the mechanic to perform maintenance on his vehicle.

Herbeth's story

Herbeth is a single 21-year-old man who lives with his uncles and brothers in his parents' home. He drives a mototaxi that he worked saved up to buy. At first, he rented the vehicle out, but he saw how its condition was deteriorating very quickly, since the customers did not take good care of it. Thus, he decided to drive it himself.

It was three years ago that he bought his first vehicle, and over time he has renovated it as it has been deteriorating from daily use. He likes his line of work because it enables him to have income to meet his personal expenses. He started the business in order to have a source of income, since previously he had been unable to find a stable source of employment.

This will be his first loan through Kiva. He is grateful for the financial report so he can continue on. He promises to be punctual with his repayments. With the funds he is seeking, 700 nuevos soles, he will buy parts for his mototaxi such as tires, seats and a sunshade. He will also pay a mechanic to perform the respective maintenance.
