A loan of $500 helped to buy seeds, fertilizers and herbicides to cultivate 7,000 square meters of corn and to pay the rent on the land.

José Alejandro's story

José is 45 years old, is married and has four children. He has made a living from agricultural work for his entire life; his parents were the ones who taught him as that was the business with which they obtained food for his family. He gets up at 4:00 a.m. with his wife to get ready and head out to the land he rents to cultivate his basic grains. He spends the entire morning out there, and in the afternoon he works as a driver. He is asking for the loan from Fundación Campo to buy seeds, fertilizers and herbicides to cultivate 7,000 square meters of corn and to pay the rent on the land. Only in this way will he have the money to continue cultivating his crops, as it would be a problem for him and for his family if they didn’t have the corn for food and to sell the other part to receive extra income. His dream is to buy land to plant on, as he is currently renting it.
