Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $375 helped to buy fibre glass and chemicals.

Julius's story

Julius lives in Mombasa, Kenya. He is 33 years old, married, and blessed with three children. He is a mechanic by training and he does panel beating. He has been in the business for more than ten years now. All his three children attend school. He also runs charcoal business in another market around town. His future goal is to be a distributor of spare parts in the whole city.

Julius heard about Milango through friends and now seeks a loan to buy fibre glass and chemicals. The challenges in the business include shortage of protective clothing and the high cost of transportation. The extra income raised from the business will help him improve his living standards and buy food and pay school fees for his children.
