Flora, age 51 and widowed, is a rice farmer. She owns and manages her own farmland, and has been engaged in this work for many years in order to earn an income. She has three children and lives in Sto. Niño, Tukuran, Zamboang del Sur.
She would like to expand her farm and increase her rice production. For this reason, she has requested a loan from Gata Daku MPC in order to finance these improvements to her rice production business.
Flora is confident that she will have an abundant harvest and thereby gain more income, which will allow her to improve the general living conditions of her family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
