A loan of $900 helped to buy vegetables, tubers, meat, and other items.

Maria's story

María, age 38, is married to Hilter, who is employed. They have three children and live together in their own home. Maria sells food in the front part of her home. She gets up early to do the daily chores, and cooks during the day so that when the night arrives she is able to offer her regional dishes. She tells us that she has been able to gain and maintain clients thanks to the quality of her food. Her food is very tasty, and this makes her customers loyal. She has had this business for three years and she works alone because her children have to study.
She complements this business with the sale of pop, bottled water, and ice cream. She loves her work because she has always enjoyed cooking. She tells us that it is very gratifying to see people's happy faces when they eat her food.
She is requesting 2500 soles. She is very happy to have this financial support to get ahead, and promises to repay her quotas punctually. With this loan, she will purchase vegetables, tubers, and various meat in order to continue preparing her delicious dishes.
