A loan of $550 helped to buy fish in bulk.

Evila's story

Evila, 32, is married to Augusto and has 5 children who live in their home. Evila sells fish, starting very early in the morning when she goes to the fishing docks in the city to get the types of fish that have the best market price. She makes her sales in bulk, but in order to sell everything she has to work very hard to attract her customers, as the competition is strong. She starts work at 4am and finishes at 7 or 8am. Sometimes she sells from in front of her home. She has been doing this for more than 5 years, working alone, and she says that the gains that she has made as a result of her good work and the money that she has generated for her family are her primary motive for looking for ways to improve. She likes the freedom that this business gives her, since she can enjoy her afternoons playing and participating in sports alongside her family. She hopes to continue working so that she can keep growing her business. On this occasion she asks for 1500 soles. She is very happy to know that she will have financial support that will let her continue forward, and promises to make her payments on time. With the requested amount she will buy a greater variety of fish and plantains to complement her sales.
