A loan of $900 helped to buy different species of fish.

Maria's story

María is 59 years old. She is the single mother of a son who is now independent and has his own family. Maria buys and sells fish in the streets of her city. She has a lot of clients, as her fish are the freshest and most delicious in the market. Plus she is a very cheerful vendor. She always manages to get a smile from her customers. Depending on the season she sells different types of fish.

For 30 years now she has had this business covering the streets of the city from one end to the other. She likes her work. She can talk with her customers and joke with them. Plus she generates a good income as she always has good sales. When she first started this work it was much more complicated. She didn't know how to keep the fish so it wouldn't go bad. But she learned with experience and things are going much better for her. In the future she hopes to have a small icebox so she can sell her fish without having to worry about it going to waste in the intense heat.

At this time she is requesting 2500 PEN to buy more fish, of various species, as lately there has been a lot of demand. She is very happy to receive financial support that allows her to get ahead. She promises to pay her installments on time.
