Bibigul's story

Bibigul is a 42-year-old married woman from the Khuroson region in Khatlon Province, Tajikistan. She is an attentive mother of two daughters and one son. Her daughters, ages 19 and 17, have both finished school. Her son is 13 and still in school. Her husband has gone to work in Russia. Her mother-in-law, who is retired, also lives with them. Bibigul is a homemaker, and now she would like to start a livestock business, namely buying and selling small livestock. Her starting capital amounts to 650USD, which she has saved from money sent by her husband. She is seeking a loan to achieve her goal. Between the loan and her savings she is planning to buy five head of cattle and calves and some cattle feed. Down the road Bibigul would like to put earnings from the business toward repairs on her house.
